Regulatory

Simon is an Associate (Barrister) in Kingsley Napley’s Regulatory department. He specialises in defending regulated individuals, organisations and corporates; and advising regulatory bodies in relation to the investigation and prosecution of proceedings, policy development and public law duties.
 

Simon joined Kingsley Napley in January 2021, having completed his pupillage with 3 Temple Gardens in 2020. He has significant experience of regulatory proceedings, having previously worked in-house at the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) and Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), and for leading professional services firms in private practice. His work for the SRA includes drafting rules and guidance as part of the 2019 Handbook Reform.

In addition, Simon has assisted in advising FTSE 100 and equivalent clients in relation to multi-jurisdictional contentious matters and regulatory enforcement brought by the Information Commissioner’s Office.

This combination of experience has provided Simon with unique insight with regard to regulatory matters affecting clients, having prosecuted and defended in relation to a wide range of proceedings.
