The real estate team have a wealth of experience and work with corporate borrowers, off-shore vehicles, JV partnerships and banks and other financial institutions.

Our expensive range of work includes development and investment funding transactions, refinancing issues, the financing and transfer of property portfolios and other property related structured financing transactions.

The team act for both banks and borrowers on secured lending transactions. However, we are particularly experienced in advising clients on bespoke transactions such as facility agreements, portfolio financing including refinancing of existing facilities (amendment and restatement agreements etc) and/or cross-collaterisation.  These include:

  • complex syndicated loan facilities; revolving credit facilities
  • development finance and ancillary security
  • mezzanine finance; and
  • social housing finance

The real estate team, together with our banking team, advise clients on the key terms of the security documentation and equally the underlying security being taken/offered. We will carry out full due diligence checks, draft reports on title and leases and/or utilise City of London Certificate of Title as part of the securitisation process. Such certification is often on commercial property but where appropriate, mixed use and/or residential portfolios have been secured against.
