The European Commission will formally re-examine the Schengen area agreement in June 2011, following a request from France and Italy.

Changes to the indefinite leave to remain rules for work permit holders
The UKBA has announced that work permit holders may now count the five year period required for indefinite leave to remain from the date they were first granted leave to enter the UK, as long as they entered within three months of obtaining entry clearance.
