According to https://layoffs.fyi/, which tracks job cuts in the tech sector, well over 100,000 tech jobs have already been lost in 2023 and many more are being announced every other day. The UK economy is expected to shrink by around 1% in 2023.
As EU nationals, French nationals enjoy free movement within the EU which means that they have the right to live and work in any member states without applying for a visa. Now that the UK has left the EU, this right no longer applies to EU nationals coming to the UK.
The ballot to apply for the India Young Professionals Scheme visa opens today. Besides having strict requirements i.e., a degree qualification, it only has 2,400 visas available. This roughly equals 1 visa for every 60,000 - 80,000 eligible nationals.
