Kingsley Napley announces 2025 partner promotions

Kingsley Napley LLP is proud to announce our four colleagues who have been invited to join the partnership as part of its annual promotions round. This will bring the total number of partners at the firm to 83, 43 (or 52%) of whom are female.

Those who have been invited to join the partnership are:

James Alleyne (Criminal Litigation): James advises financial services firms on FCA related matters, including authorisation applications, perimeter and supervisory issues, enforcement investigations and cases before the Regulatory Decisions Committee and Upper Tribunal. He also advises senior managers and regulated individuals on regulatory issues and investigations. He has extensive experience of cases involving market abuse, insider dealing, non-financial misconduct and systems and control failings as well as crypto sector matters. He joined Kingsley Napley in 2022 from the FCA where he spent seven years in the Enforcement division and earlier worked in the Proceeds of Crime team at the SFO. 

Roberta Draper (Corporate, Commercial and Finance): Roberta advises founders, startups and scaleups receiving investment and angel investors and family offices making investments in English companies. She also advises on a variety of other corporate matters including on corporate sales and acquisitions, asset sales, shareholder relationships, restructuring (including share buybacks) and share option schemes. Roberta is a regular adviser to Angel Academe, an award winning, mainly female angel investor network that supports female founded tech startups, and she was recently a judge of TechRound’s Women in Tech awards. Roberta is a Kingsley Napley lifer thus far in her career, having trained and qualified at the firm.   

Stephanie Mooney (Private Client): Stephanie advises high-net worth families, entrepreneurs and trustees on a wide range of private client matters including succession and estate planning; wills; probate and estate administration; the creation and administration of trusts; powers of attorney and tax advice to those moving to or from the UK. She has a particular expertise in succession planning with a cross-border element and holds the STEP Advance Certificate in Cross Border Estates. Stephanie is also uniquely placed at the firm by being registered with the Dubai International Financial Centre as a DIFC Will draftsperson. She joined Kingsley Napley in 2016 upon qualification, having trained with Charles Russell Speechlys. In 2022 Stephanie was recognised as one of eprivateclient’s Top 35 under 35.  

Sophie Wood (Criminal Litigation): Sophie advises individual and corporate clients involved in a wide range of internal, criminal and regulatory investigations. She has acted in numerous investigations conducted by the SFO, NCA, HMRC, FCA, ICO, GLAA and DoJ encompassing allegations of financial and other wrongdoing, and regularly advises on money laundering matters encompassing civil and criminal powers under the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 and acts for individuals subjected to extradition proceedings and INTERPOL action. Sophie is a member of the cross-practice Health and Safety and ESG teams, representing clients involved in Environment Agency and Health & Safety Executive investigations, alongside accusations of international human rights law breaches. Sophie is ranked in Legal 500 and was named by GIR in 2024 as one of their leading ‘40 under 40 ‘investigations specialists from across the world.
