There was good and bad news this week from the PRA/FCA joint announcement on the Senior Managers Regime (SMR). The regulator has now exempted some non-executive directors (NEDs) from the new rules and confirmed only NEDs with key areas of responsibility will fall under the auspices of the new regime.
