Immigration Update: Reinstatement of representative service at the Public Enquiry Office
Kingsley Napley is very pleased to announce that following a strong lobby by immigration law firms, including Kingsley Napley, the UK Border Agency has reversed its decision to remove the ability of immigration firms to have representative slots at the Public Enquiry Office (PEO) for same day processing of applications.

Immigration Update: Special Visitor Concession for those Attending the Olympic Games
Certain individuals who have been accredited and received an Accreditation Card for the 2012 Olympic or Paralympic Games from the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) may enter the UK as a special visitor in order to attend the events, without a visa. These accredited individuals include athletes, umpires, technical and support staff, broadcasters and others associated with the Games. Collectively, the UK Border Agency (UKBA) has termed these individuals ‘Olympic or Paralympic Games family members’ for these purposes. These individuals may seek permission to enter the UK without a visa between 30 March 2012 and 8 November 2012, for a maximum of 6 months and the period must end on or before 8 November 2012.

Immigration Update: Important Immigration Update
Due to changes in legislation, and from 29 February 2012, all non-EEA nationals seeking leave to remain, including settlement, will be required to enrol their biometric features (to date, biometric enrolment has not affected migrants applying for indefinite leave to remain). Permission to remain in the UK will be evidenced by a Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) card and not the usual passport endorsement. This means there will be a significant increase in the number of people enrolling their biometric features.

We were informed by the UK Border Agency (UKBA) last Thursday that it is now strictly adhering to policy as far as indefinite leave to remain absences is concerned.
