FCA case against CACEIS UK raises points of interest for practitioners

The government has announced that from July 2011 only students studying directly at higher education institutions will be able to work while they are in the UK with Tier 4 leave. All other new students will have no right to work.
The UK Border Agency (UKBA) has recently announced that it will close the Post Study Work route to new entrants from April 2012. The closure of Tier 1 (Post Study Work) has been expected for some time so it will come as some comfort to current students and graduate employers that the route is to remain open for another year.

Employers who are registered as Tier 2 sponsors have a duty to inform the UK Border Agency (UKBA) of changes to their arrangements with migrant employees caused by structural reorganisation.
The UK Border Agency has requested that all sponsors complete and return a UKBA form to request their allocation of unrestricted Certificates of Sponsorship (CoS) for the year from 6 April 2011 to 5 April 2012.
