Our Investigations experts contribute to GIR’s Global Investigations guide

9 January 2023

We are delighted to have contributed to the latest edition of GIR’s Practitioner’s Guide to Global Investigations.

The guide is a vital resource used by external and in-house counsel, compliance officers and accounting practitioners across the world, and our Criminal Litigation partners have contributed two chapters to the guide:

Caroline Day and Louise Hodges wrote the chapter “Witness Interviews in Internal Investigations: The UK Perspective, “ which explores the various practices that can be adopted when conducting interviews and highlights some of the benefits and risks of each approach. It also considers the preparation and formalities that may be required for witness interviews in the United Kingdom, and identifies particular complexities that can arise in global investigations when multiple jurisdictions are involved.

Aaron Watkins co-authored the chapter on Extradition alongside Ben Brandon of Mishcon De Reya, in which they consider the main mechanisms by which states enter extradition relationships, as well as the core concepts which enable extradition or operate to prevent it. They also consider the main trends and issues in extradition that they are seeing at the current time.

The chapters can be found here:

Please do contact Caroline, Louise or Aaron for any questions that you may have.
