What to expect at a Mediation Information and Assessment Meetings (MIAMs)

The title of the conference is “International Legal Challenges for 2015”, and the topics to be discussed at the six sessions on Saturday and Sunday morning include:
- Respecting state sovereignty and the ICC – unwilling or unable?
- Russia and Ukraine - Annexation and aggression and the effectiveness of IL/ICL in these situations. A review and analysis of what did/could/should have happened
- Israel and Gaza. Sri Lanka and LTTE - The right of states to confront hostile forces embedded within the civilian population
- ISIS, Supporting Revolution and the International Legal Context of Aiding and Abetting
- Challenges in securing truthful witness testimony in ICL
- Expanding the jurisdiction of the African court on human and peoples’ rights
