He also advises on the UK regulatory treatment of cryptocurrencies as well as assisting with fundraising via initial coin offerings.
  • David Davies joined the Corporate & Commercial team as a Partner on 19 October 2020 from Bates Wells. His practice covers all aspects of corporate law, advising owner-managed and venture-backed businesses, investors and management on transactional matters, including restructuring, LLPs / partnerships and corporate governance matters. David has an in-depth understanding of and track record in advising on transactions in the technology sector and he has also developed a reputation advising on transactional matters in the ESG-focussed “impact economy”.
  • Will MacFarlane joined the Family & Divorce team as a Partner on 16 November 2020 from Royds Withy King. He advises clients on the full range of family law issues arising on the breakdown of relationships with particular expertise in resolving complex financial claims often with an international element. Will regularly represents professional sportspeople as well as individuals and families on wealth protection issues and nuptial and cohabitation agreements. Will spent his formative years at Withers in London and has since developed a strong regional practice.

James Fulforth, Head of Corporate & Commercial, comments:

“We are very excited to welcome John and David to our partnership and to the Corporate & Commercial team. They both bring extensive experience and complementary areas of expertise to our practice. They will help to strengthen and enhance our offering to clients, support further growth in our technology and investment groups, and increase our capability in relation to capital markets, cryptocurrencies and coin/token offerings.”

Charlotte Bradley, Head of Family & Divorce, comments:

“We are absolutely thrilled that Will has joined our partnership and the Family & Divorce team. He has a great reputation in the market and is an excellent fit for our expanding family team, including the recent appointments of Abby Buckland and Connie Atkinson as new partners.
