During a visit to China on 14 October 2013, the Chancellor, George Osborne indicated that the visa application process for Chinese visitors was to be simplified. The Home Office has now announced the introduction of the following enhanced and streamlined services for processing UK visa applications in China.

On 24 September the Home Office announced the coming into force of the Registered Traveller Scheme which we previously wrote to you about on 5 June 2013.
On 6 September 2013 a number of changes to the Immigration Rules were announced and laid before Parliament. The changes which will come into effect on 1 October 2013 will mean greater flexibility for businesses and workers.
