Case studies

James Ward recently acted for a family who sold a series of medical practices for a significant profit. James advised the family on their wider succession planning. This encompassed: shareholder agreements in relation to funds that were reinvested; Wills and succession planning; Lasting Powers of Attorney; and, a family governance document to guide the family members on a practical level. The document included a handrails note in relation to the use and requirement for pre and post-nuptial agreements and issues to be aware of in relation to the migration of family members to jurisdictions other than the UK, particularly in relation to grandchildren who wish to reside in the USA.

The family and their businesses are also now using Kingsley Napley for advice in relation to property, litigation, immigration and further corporate work. The Private Client team are also assisting with comprehensive Inheritance Tax planning for the family.
