Deputyship – providing day to day support in the management of finances, property and affairs
Sophie joined Kingsley Napley in 2014 and works as an Associate in the firm’s specialist Court of Protection team. She assists with the running of Deputyships for clients with severe brain injuries and has particular experience with cerebral palsy cases.
Sophie completed the Diploma in Law at Westminster University in 2017 and qualified as an Associate, Chartered Legal Executive via CILEx in 2019.
Sophie is responsible for keeping detailed records of clients’ financial affairs. She also assists with reporting to the Office of the Public Guardian and making applications to the Court of Protection.
In her current role, she is the main point of contact for clients and their families, providing support on a range of issues including care, therapies, housing, benefits and transport. She works closely with professionals such as case managers, therapists, financial advisers and local authorities. A key part of her role involves managing large and specialist building projects for clients and ensuring clients receive their entitled benefits.
She often acts as an emotional support for clients and families ensuring they can live as independently as possible.
Before joining Kingsley Napley Sophie worked for Children’s Services supporting vulnerable families with children with special needs.
