Kate leads investigations on fitness to practise matters on behalf of regulatory bodies including the Teaching Regulation Agency (TRA) and the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
Previously, Kate was the Head Legal Assistant in the Regulatory Team working for regulators in fitness to practise investigations. These involved allegations of misconduct, lack of competence, health, and conviction or caution matters. Kate is experienced in interviewing witnesses, drafting lengthy and complex witness statements, drafting letters of instruction to expert witnesses, and preparing bundles for hearings. Kate seeks to obtain relevant evidence, and is assisted by a team of paralegals, and then advises the client on the prospects of success.
Prior to qualification, Kate read Law at the University of Liverpool achieving a First-Class Honours Degree, and then subsequently worked as a Litigation Executive for a specialist civil litigation firm. Kate then completed the Legal Practice Course at BPP University in Holborn, achieving a Distinction.
