Kingsley Napley LLP is delighted to have been reappointed as a panel law firm to The General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) following a competitive tender process.
The GPhC is responsible for regulating pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and pharmacy premises across Great Britain on behalf of the UK and Scottish Parliaments. As such, it has powers to investigate and, where appropriate, sanction those who fall short of the standards expected to protect the public and maintain public trust in pharmacy (as set out in The Pharmacy Order 2010).
Kingsley Napley has been working with the GPhC since 2019, advising on investigation strategy, drafting allegations, collating documentary evidence, obtaining witness statements and ultimately presenting misconduct related cases before independent Fitness to Practise Committee (FtPC) hearings. It has now been reappointed to provide these services for a further two years starting from February 2025.
Melinka Berridge, Head of the Regulatory team at Kingsley Napley, comments: “This is pleasing news as the GPhC is a longstanding and valued client of the firm. We have invested considerably in processes, systems and people to enable us to fulfil the GPhC’s exacting service requirements and we are very pleased the GPhC has recognised our track record and wishes to continue working with us.”
Kingsley Napley’s Regulatory team acts for both regulators and professionals in the field of professional discipline and is a recognised leader in this field. The team is retained by the Teaching Regulation Agency, the Education Workforce Council, the General Dental Council, the General Optical Council and the Architects Registration Board in addition to the GPhC. Kingsley Napley also regularly advises law firms and lawyers, accounting firms and accountants, doctors, and surveyors as well as other professional firms and experts on regulatory compliance, investigations and enforcement matters involving their respective regulators.
