Director hire to lead new focus on Actuarial services Regulatory Advisory and Defence

Former IFoA Head of Disciplinary Investigations joins the firm

Kingsley Napley is pleased to announce that Jenny Higgins has joined the firm as a Legal Director in its Regulatory practice to lead a new focus on defence and advisory work in the actuarial  sector.

Jenny was Head of Disciplinary Investigations at the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries until earlier this month. As such, she has a unique understanding of how regulators approach conduct issues and an in-depth understanding of the actuarial regulatory framework.

Jenny joins the Kingsley Napley team which specialises in regulatory advice to the accounting and actuarial sectors. She will be the lead adviser for the latter sector. She is experienced in advising regulated individuals and firms as well as acting on behalf of professional regulatory bodies. Jenny first worked at Kingsley Napley from 2013 to 2019 representing accountants in professional disciplinary proceedings brought by the FRC, ICAEW, ICAS, ACCA and CIPFA, in addition to advising the IFoA on regulatory and disciplinary issues.

As well as supporting clients on regulatory investigations and enforcement action, Jenny will be delivering training to professionals and firms on their compliance and regulatory obligations, including under the Actuaries’ Code, Technical Actuarial Standards and Actuarial Professional Standards. She is also experienced in advising regulators on a range of regulatory issues as well as drafting regulatory and disciplinary frameworks, guidance and standards.
