Legal 500 UK 2017

Jenny is a Senior Associate specialising  in disciplinary proceedings involving accountants and actuaries. She is experienced in defending allegations against regulated professionals as well as acting on behalf of regulatory bodies in the fields of financial services and healthcare.

Jenny advises a wide range of regulated professionals who are subject to disciplinary proceedings. She has a special interest in financial regulation and defends accountants regulated by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and the Chartered Institute of Public Finance & Accountancy (CIPFA). Jenny also acts for nurses and doctors in proceedings before the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and the General Medical Council (GMC).

She is experienced in prosecuting on behalf of healthcare and financial regulators, particularly the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA), the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the General Dental Council (GDC).

Jenny’s practice includes advising on non-contentious regulatory issues, which has included providing training for the adjudicatory functions of the IFoA and the Solicitors Regulatory Authority (SRA).

Jenny understands that disciplinary proceedings are inherently stressful. She has extensive experience of guiding her clients through the disciplinary process and ensuring they feel supported at every step.

Jenny spent three years in-house at the IFoA. In addition to disciplinary investigations, she drafted ethical standards for actuaries and provided guidance to members in relation to regulatory and professional queries.  Her experience of both prosecution and defence ensures that she is ideally placed to advise regulated professionals on how a regulator may view alleged conduct and how best to defend an allegation.
