Making Space for Homeless Queers: An Interview with The Outside Project

There is still much work to be done to remove the barriers preventing so many autistic people from obtaining paid employment.
Autism Acceptance Awareness week, (27 March to 2 April) (and its theme this year of colour), is particularly poignant for our Partner Charlotte Bradley, as 2 April marks exactly four months since her sister Lucy died (unexpectedly but peacefully), and the day before her birthday.
On the 28 July 2021, the Government unveiled the highly anticipated National Disability Strategy (‘the strategy’). Pledged in the Government’s 2019 manifesto, the aim is to “improve the everyday lives of disabled people”. The Prime Minister described the strategy as the most comprehensive, concerted, cross-government plan relating to disability ever. A bold claim, but is it justified?
Throughout this week, my colleagues have blogged on important topics to celebrate International Day of Persons with Disabilities. To round off the week, I wanted to demonstrate our commitment to take action to improve.
