The War Crimes Committee of the International Bar Association is holding its third specialist conference at the start of February. The conference will be held at the Peace Palace in The Hague, home to the International Court of Justice, on Saturday 4 February 2017.
Under the banner of, “The World in Crisis”, the conference will start with a Keynote speech by Professor Bill Schabas in which he will review 2016’s significant events and cases relating to war crimes. This will be followed by panels on:
The day will conclude with a drinks reception.
This conference follows the success of the 2015 and 2016 conferences, “International Legal Challenges for 2015”, and, “The Legal Challenges of Modern Warfare”, which were both attended by several hundred delegates.
As always the quality of the speakers is extremely high and once again the IBA has kept the price of tickets as low as possible at €100 (€80 for those under 30). 6 CPD points are available.
Further details can be found at the IBA conference web page. Please contact Jonathan Grimes (Immediate Past Co-Chair) for more details.
