Dishonesty – a look at sanction and the difficulties faced in seeking to show that fitness to practise is not impaired
Louise is an Associate in the Regulatory and Professional Discipline team. Louise is primarily responsible for investigating fitness to practise cases on behalf of various regulatory bodies. These cases involve professional misconduct, ill health and lack of competence.
Louise is experienced in dealing with regulatory matters in both the healthcare and education fields.
Louise is conscious of how stressful disciplinary proceedings can be for all those involved and endeavours to strike a balance between being sensitive yet firm.
Prior to joining Kingsley Napley, Louise’s background was not only in regulatory law but also in civil litigation and insurance law. She has experience of defending clinical negligence claims brought against doctors, nurses, NHS Trusts and various companies on the instruction of medical defence organisations and insurers. Louise gained a particular interest in defending claims relating to alleged negligent treatment by opticians and optometrists.
