In her legal services regulatory practice, Georgia predominately acts for law firms, advising on the full spectrum of SRA related matters, including reporting obligations, AML compliance and complaints arising out of counter-inclusive behaviours, such as sexual misconduct and harassment. She has particular experience in assisting law firms undertaking internal investigations. Georgia has extensive experience in representing lawyers and law firms in hearings before the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal; her background in civil litigation, has meant that Georgia is forensic and meticulous, yet creative, in her approach to cases.
Georgia is an expert in healthcare regulation and also acts for doctors in fitness to practise proceedings brought by the GMC. She represents doctors at all stages of investigations, from initial contact, in Interim Order hearings, in substantive hearings before the Medical Practitioners’ Tribunal Service, review hearings, restoration hearings and in appeals. Prior to working at Kingsley Napley, Georgia worked for several years’ as a panel solicitor for all three of the UK’s major medical defence organisations.
In her early career, Georgia defended a number of healthcare professionals in complex and high value clinical negligence claims (including fatal claims), acted for healthcare professionals involved in Fatal Accident Inquiries in Scotland, advised GP practices on complaints before the Scottish Public Services Ombudsman and acted for dentists in NHS Tribunals.
Georgia is dual-qualified in Scotland, England and Wales. She has been named as a Recommended Lawyer in the Legal 500 “medical negligence” (defender) rankings.
