Statutory interpretation and “wild camping”: Supreme Court upholds the right to wild camp on the Dartmoor Commons

Caitlín is a Trainee Solicitor at Kingsley Napley and is currently in her second seat with the Public Law team. She joined the firm in September 2024.
Prior to commencing her training contract, Caitlín worked as a Legal Officer at the whistleblowing charity Protect, supervising the legal Advice Line, providing legal and practical advice to whistleblowers, conducting benchmark reviews of employers’ whistleblowing arrangements, and devising and delivering training on whistleblowing law, investigations and ESG. Caitlín also volunteered with the human rights charity Liberty, assisting their Advice and Information team.
Caitlín has a particular interest in sustainability and environmental issues, and is a member of Kingsley Napley’s Environment & Sustainability Group. Whilst at Protect, she created and led the charity’s environmental whistleblowing project, overseeing the production of the Environmental Whistleblowing Toolkit. The project was Highly Commended in the sustainability category at the LexisNexis Legal Awards 2024, helped Protect win ‘Legal ESG Team of the Year’ at the Legal ESG: Awards / UK 2024 and its research reported in the Guardian, Law Society Gazette, and other industry press.
Before pursuing a career in law, Caitlín worked as an Independent Mental Health Advocate and Healthcare Assistant in secure and forensic mental health hospitals. Caitlín holds a BA in Politics and History with first class honours from SOAS University of London, a Graduate Diploma in Law with distinction from The University of Law and has passed SQE1 and SQE2, scoring in the top quintile for both exams. Caitlín was awarded the Choose Law full-fee scholarship to study the GDL.
