We are pleased to announce that Greg Foxsmith has been appointed as Legal Director in our Criminal Litigation team.
Greg is a highly regarded and experienced lawyer and advocate with over 25 years experience. He returns to criminal litigation after a stint as a senior advocate in our regulatory team, dealing with misconduct cases across a wide range of professions, particularly in health care. His expertise in both fields will be invaluable in defending professionals facing allegations that have both criminal and regulatory consequences.
His crime work has previously focussed on defending individuals accused of homicide, violence, robbery, alleged sex offences, and those charged with offences arising from public protest.
He has vast experience of defending high profile suspects detained at the police station, and at Court at every level from the Magistrates Court to the Court of Appeal. His client list includes those in the public eye, particularly sport, media and politics, and he is celebrated for his discrete approach and pro-active case management.
Greg is a former President of the London Criminal Courts Solicitors Association, and an active campaigner for justice.
Outside of work, Greg is a keen football fan, and co-founder of the Jack Leslie Campaign which raised funds for a statue to celebrate the life of England's first black footballer and continues to campaign against racism in sport. In addition he is a trustee with mentoring charity “Bridging the Gap”.
