“It is not clear how the NCA approves the names they hold and that position needs reviewing in light of [this week’s] case,”
She pointed out that funding was also seen as an issue because the “government rate for experts is poor”. She added: “This often means that the pool of available experts willing to do the work is very limited and can also lead to the same expert being used on multiple cases which may undermine that expert’s independence and objectivity.”
