Further clarification on the requirement to record the date of entry to the UK

Our alert of 23 August 2019 set out the requirements for sponsors of Tier 2 and 5 workers to record the date of first entry to the UK.  As an update, the Home Office has released a new version of the Appendix D guidance which sets out those requirements.  The new guidance clarifies that.

EU Settlement Scheme - app available on iPhones at last

Finally, the EU Settlement Scheme app is available on iPhones.  As part of an application for pre-settled or settled status under the EU Settlement Scheme, EU citizens and their family members must demonstrate their identity.

UK nationals going to the EU for business travel in the event of no deal

While there is a near continuous stream of Brexit related news on immigration issues and prospective new laws, one of the often overlooked practical implications is for UK nationals travelling to the EU as business visitors.  That is particularly the case if the UK leaves the EU without a deal, be that on 31 October 2019 or at a later date.
