In the last month there have been a number of noteworthy press releases by various regulatory bodies, particularly in relation to improvements to their processes.
This was an application by K, who was a student member of the Institute of Legal Executives (ILEX), against a decision refusing to grant her judicial review application concerning allegations of apparent bias by ILEX and its appeal tribunal.
Registered Nurse, David Miller, was initially made subject to an interim suspension order in May 2009 in relation to allegations of dishonesty and aggressive conduct towards patients and members of the public.
Shah v General Dental Council was an appeal by S against an order imposed by the General Dental Council removing his name from the register.
The approach to costs amongst regulatory bodies varies and can be a source of some debate. It has also given rise to a growing body of case law, which has seen some further development of late arising from a case originally heard before the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal.
