  • HCPC launches consultation to obtain the views of stakeholders on new standards for prescribing medication and has produced new standards in line with the consultation.
  • Rt Hon Jeremy Hunt MP, announces that every doctor practising in the UK will be subject to regular checks to help improve the quality of patient care.
  • GDC considers removal of current restrictions which prevent patients seeing another member of the dental team until after they have been referred by a dentist.
  • It is now an offence to clamp, tow or immobilise a vehicle without lawful authority under the Protection of Freedoms Bill.
  • The Bar Council aims to launch a new initiative offering emergency childcare packages for barristers in London, in a bid to help practising barristers manage their childcare arrangements.
