The UK's long-anticipated move towards establishing a legal framework for the CBD industry has potentially taken a substantial leap forward. Recently, the government accepted recommendations set forth by the Advisory Council for the Misuse of Drugs (ACMD) regarding permissible levels of controlled cannabinoids in consumer CBD products. This decision marks a significant stride towards clarity and regulation in an industry previously shrouded in ambiguity.
Inappropriate behaviours inside and outside work, including sexual misconduct, bullying and harassment, have increasingly come under scrutiny by several professional services regulators.
In July 2023, a revised version of the "Guide to Judicial Conduct" was published. It is the essential manual applying to all judicial office holders (and coroners) in courts and tribunals, whether salaried or fee-paid, legal or non-legal, and including those operating in Scotland and Northern Ireland.
At the start of November, the government will host the first global summit on artificial intelligence (AI), with a focus on the safe use of AI. The AI Safety Summit will be at Bletchley Park, a venue representing innovation and pioneering, and once the top-secret home of WW2 codebreakers.
