Following the tragic Grenfell Tower fire there have been a raft of changes to fire and building safety legislation and regulation, including the introduction of the Fire Safety Act 2021, Fire Safety Regulations 2022, the Building Safety Act 2022 and the introduction of the Building Safety Regulator.
Alongside the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, the new legislation places further duties and responsibilities on those responsible for fire safety. The law is wide reaching in its scope as to who is responsible for fire safety in a building and understanding your responsibilities is key.
