100 Years of Employment Law in the UK and France

13 September 2024

This summer has been one of celebration in France, with the return of the Olympics to Paris for the first time in a century.

To mark the occasion, and with employment law reforms looming in the UK, our employment law specialists have created a timeline of notable employment laws in both countries since the 1924 Games.

You can discover key dates and trends that have shaped the workplace on both sides of the Channel by clicking here.

We advise our international clients on workplace issues, including:

  • preparing employment contracts or policies;
  • implementing restructuring plans; and/or
  • bringing or defending discrimination or whistleblowing claims with an international element.

Our knowledge of the background to the legislative landscape and of societal norms of the other country are essential to ensure our clients are best placed to navigate a legal and court system which is entirely different to that of their home jurisdiction.

Please contact Emmanuelle Ries, Nikola Southern or Clodagh Hogan in the Anglo-French Group with any workplace issues involving a cross border element.
