Laura is a Legal Assistant and has worked in the Criminal Litigation team since 2015.
Laura is a key member of Kingsley Napley’s Criminal Defence team. She is involved in the management of a range of cases involving serious and general crime. The main focus of her work is in criminal defence and police investigations, and has particular experience of defending allegations of a sexual nature. She is organised and efficient and has significant litigation and trial experience.
In her current role, she acts as a point of contact for clients and witnesses. She liaises with the police, prosecution and courts to ensure the smooth and efficient running of cases. Laura attends Court to assist Counsel at a range of hearings in both the Magistrates’ Court and Crown Court. She is praised by clients for her ability to provide support and guidance in the most challenging and stressful of situations.
Laura has extensive experience of representing children and young people, particularly in relation to allegations of sexual offences and sexual misconduct. She is committed to ensuring the relevant authorities recognise and respect the special rights afforded to children who find themselves within the criminal justice system.
Laura manages cases involving applications to vary or discharge Sexual Offences Prevention Orders (SOPO) and Sexual Harm Prevention Orders (SHPO) in cases where they are no longer necessary as their stringent prohibitions have become punitive and/or overlap with statutory notification requirements.
Laura also has experience in advising and supporting victims of crime in making a complaint to the police. Her knowledge of the criminal justice system and empathetic approach allows her to act as a liaison point between the client and the police ensuring enhanced communication and support.
Laura is currently training to qualify as a Legal Executive Lawyer.

What clients have said
I think it would be hard to over-state the sense of reassurance that [my son] got from your advice and – most importantly – from the way in which you gave it. You were authoritative and sympathetic, and, crucially, you were available whenever he needed your input. All of your communications with him seemed to reflect a real effort on your part to see things from his perspective, and all of the advice was delivered in a language that he really understood. I’m not exaggerating when I say that your input really was one of the main things which helped him to get through the whole business."
A Client, 2021
As a lawyer myself but now in need as a client, I benefited from the excellence of your services (both legal and psychological), with a critical and appreciative eye. All I can say from the bottom of my heart and the top of my brain is, for all of you, pure and simple, thanks. You were the lawyer's lawyers I was seeking (and always aspired to be) in an emergency and I was lucky to have found you.
A Client, 2021
thank you again for all your help during this stressful period. I was very happy with the service (and of course the result!)”
A Client, 2021
Our experience with Kingsley Napley throughout the last three weeks has been excellent. We were particularly impressed with Laura. She was critical in managing [the client] during the process and, frankly, helping to alleviate his stress levels prior to his court appearance. She was professional, thorough and empathetic.”
I can honestly say I wouldn’t have changed how my case was presented. I can’t thank all of you enough for your hard work. I really believe we didn’t leave anything behind and I don’t have any regrets about how the trial was executed. […] Laura and [Counsel] have really been a huge support for my family and again that means so much to us."
…thank you for all the help you provided me and my family over the past 10 months, both in terms of the work and the mental support. Was by far the hardest time of my life, but was very grateful to have you guys there to reassure me and to talk to me about my anxieties.”
