Compliance with UK Data Protection Laws
Overview
Compliance with UK Data Protection Laws
Since the UK formally left the EU, our data protection laws have been gradually evolving, from differences between the EU and UK GDPRs to the phased introduction of the UK of The Data (Use and Access) Act 2025. It is therefore important to ensure that your data processing activities comply with existing laws and that you understand the anticipated impact of any reform to our data protection laws.
For organisations: our specialist data protection compliance team works with businesses in the UK and overseas, along with charities and public sector bodies and can provide you with practical, targeted, expert legal advice with respect to all aspects of data protection compliance, from recruitment of staff to asset and share sales. We can:
- Assist you in conducting a data processing audit and advise upon compliance with UK data protection laws;
- Draft privacy and cookies notices;
- Update contracts with data processors (including software and cloud service providers);
- Advise upon international transfers, including implementing the UK’s International Data Transfer Agreement;
- Advise on electronic marketing in compliance with the Privacy and Electronic Communication Regulations;
- Advise upon corporate governance arrangements, including Data Protection Officer obligations;
- Support the creation of a culture of data protection compliance throughout your organisation through updating information handling policies and procedures and preparing bespoke training for your staff or board.
