Kingsley Napley proud to be Best Law Firm to Work for in the UK

23 May 2023

  • Sixth Best Large Company to Work for in the UK across all sectors

  • Tenth year of accreditation in the Best Companies process

For a second quarter in a row, Kingsley Napley has been named ‘Best Law Firm to Work for in the UK’ in results released on Friday (19th May) by Best Companies.

It was also named the fourth best ‘Large Company to work for in London’ and the sixth best ‘Large Company to Work for in the UK’ across all business sectors, according to the Best Companies Q2 2023 league table.

This is now the tenth year of Kingsley Napley being accredited as part of the exacting Best Companies process which requires employees to complete regular surveys on amongst other things work/ life balance; pride in their employer and how well a firm is managed.

Kingsley Napley’s Managing Partner Linda Woolley comments: “We have long nurtured and prized our special people-oriented culture, based on a supportive, collegiate environment, strong commitment to D&I and an emphasis on employee wellbeing. The fact this is an increasingly competitive space makes our continued recognition as a leader in this field all the more pleasing. Our great results this year, as ever, are testimony to all our people who make Kingsley Napley a lovely place to work and who participate in the Best Companies process to measure how we are doing versus our peers.”

Kingsley Napley’s strong culture has been an important factor in its recent growth, with six new partners joining in 2023 so far (in Tax Disputes, IP Disputes, Restructuring & Insolvency, Employment and a new Head of Medical Negligence). The firm has an array of policies, programmes and employee networks encouraging and supporting social mobility, LGBT+ and ethnic minority groups, working parents and those with visible and invisible disabilities. It also has an impressive track record of pro-bono work, fund-raising and giving back to local charities and community initiatives.

Kingsley Napley was the first law firm to introduce a pregnancy loss policy and to sign the Menopause Workplace pledge in 2021. It recently partnered with mental health specialists Self Space to offer free counselling to all who need it and offers a wide range of other wellbeing benefits, including virtual GP consultations, chair massages, yoga and an on-site beautician. All staff are eligible for an annual wellness subsidy towards fitness, diet or personal development courses.

Last summer Kingsley Napley announced record revenues of £55.2m for year ending April 2022, the highest in its history.  The firm is well-known for its work in white-collar crime, litigation, corporate and commercial, immigration, employment, professional discipline, family law, private client, real estate, medical negligence, regulatory and public law.
