Earlier this summer, Sophie Kemp, Katherine Tyler and Nick De Mulder were pleased to contribute to the UN Working Group on Business and Human Rights' important consultation on "Corporate Influence in the Political and Regulatory Sphere."
The consultation asked a number of questions about the area of ‘corporate capture’ in the political and regulatory sphere, including forms of necessary and appropriate engagement by businesses in the political sphere; examples of undue regulatory influence; the role of the state in regulating corporate political activities; and the specific human rights risks that are posed in this area.
Sophie, Katherine and Nick were able to draw on Kingsley Napley’s significant experience in ESG, Business and Human Rights and Regulatory matters in order to contribute to the consultation. Sophie and Katherine have been contributors to the UN Working Group for a number of years.
