Mary Hare School is the largest national school for deaf children and young people aged 4 – 18 and a registered charity.
Most pupils are residential as they live a long way from home. The school provides a language-rich teaching environment, specialising in speaking and listening English, without the use of Sign Language in the classroom.
The Mary Hare Foundation was established in 1991 to raise funds the School and, in May 2024, launched an appeal to raise £5 million to improve the 1950s’ sports facilities at the School.
