Joe was called to the Bar in 2018. Prior to joining Kingsley Napley as an advocate in the regulatory team he maintained a busy criminal defence practice from Carmelite Chambers.
In his previous role Joe appeared in serious and complex cases across the Crown, Magistrates’ and Youth Courts. He has considerable experience of cases involving young and vulnerable witnesses and has an acute appreciation of the need for a sensitive and nuanced approach. To this end Joe undertook dedicated vulnerable witness and youth justice advocacy training in 2019. Joe also has experience handling expert evidence, having both relied upon and cross-examined witnesses on issues such as needle phobia and HMRC benefit claim procedures.
This extensive witness handling experience has enabled Joe to deal with registrants, witnesses and victims from a broad range of backgrounds and circumstances, and to adopt an approach that allows them to most effectively present their evidence before the relevant tribunal.
