Emily is an Associate in the Regulatory and Professional Discipline team. Emily is primarily responsible for investigating fitness to practice cases on behalf of regulatory bodies within the healthcare sector. These cases often involve professional misconduct and/or lack of competence.

Prior to joining Kingsley Napley, Emily’s background was not only in regulatory law but also in criminal litigation. She has experience defending serious prosecutions commenced for the full spectrum of serious criminal offences and obtained her higher rights of audience within the criminal courts. In many cases, where criminal prosecutions or investigations are mounted against professional clients, Emily has also represented these individuals in subsequent disciplinary proceedings commenced by the relevant regulator.

Emily has experience working on prosecutions involving the Health and Care Professions Council, the Nursing and Midwifery Council and the General Pharmaceutical Council.

Before qualifying as a solicitor, Emily worked as a journalist and therefore brings knowledge of media relations and reputation management to her client relationships.
