Colleen is an Associate in the Family team. She works on a wide range of private family matters, including divorce, matters relating to children (including relocation and contact arrangements) and financial disputes. She has a working knowledge of spoken and written French.

Colleen works on a wide range of private family matters and has particular experience in Anglo-French financial disputes. Her case experience also encompasses matters including:

  • Divorce, including jurisdiction races;
  • Issues relating to children (including relocation and contact arrangements);
  • Financial disputes, including following a foreign divorce; and
  • Pre and postnuptial agreements.

Colleen provides practical and empathetic advice to clients to assist them in achieving the best possible result. She works closely with Kingsley Napley’s other departments including Real Estate, Private Client and Criminal where these issues need to be considered.

Colleen read Law and French at Leeds University, including a year studying French law at the Université de Nancy II. She completed her LPC at the University of Law in London. Colleen has also completed a secondment with a French boutique family law firm in Paris.

Recent cases

  • Orenga de Gafforj v Orenga de Gafforj [2018] EWCA Civ 2070 - Interlocutory application in the Court of Appeal, successfully obtaining a “Hadkinson Order” to immediately dismiss the husband’s appeal against an Order that England & Wales has jurisdiction in the event he failed to purge his contempt of a previous court order within 14 days, and to lift the stay on the wife’s Petition for Divorce in England & Wales.
