Kingsley Napley raises over £2k for two local charities

18 May 2021

Law firm Kingsley Napley is proud to have raised over £2,000 for two charities local to its new 21 Bonhill Street EC2 office (opening in July 2021), thanks to a weekend of fundraising activities to mark Mental Health Awareness Week.

From 14-16th May, some 67 members of Kingsley Napley took part in the initiative, known as KNCReW2021, whereby they challenged themselves to run, walk, cycle or climb to raise funds in support of:

  • Voyage, a social justice charity that aims to empower marginalised black young people and provide them with the self-awareness and motivation to transform themselves and their communities.
  • Shoreditch Trust an organisation working to create a future free from inequality. They support individual and community leadership and development and encourage people to achieve their goals. They also design community-based health and wellbeing programmes.

Last year’s KNCReW event raised funds for the charity Show Racism the Red Card in response to the Black Lives Matter Movement. This year’s funds will be split equally between Voyage and Shoreditch Trust.

Kingsley Napley’s Senior Partner Stephen Parkinson comments:

For KNCReW2021 we wanted to mark the soon-to-be new chapter in Kingsley Napley’s journey by supporting charities local to our new office. It seemed appropriate for staff to get moving and take time away from their pcs to mark Mental Health Awareness Week. And it was extra-motivating for staff to be able to do this knowing two amazing charities would benefit as a result. I for one took part, running 10km over the weekend alongside some of my colleagues and found this a hugely rewarding and worthwhile exercise.”

Kingsley Napley Pro Bono and Responsible Business Manager Linzi McDonald comments

Justice, equality and accountability are at the heart of what we do at Kingsley Napley. That is why we are delighted to have been able to support Voyage and Shoreditch Trust on this occasion and we hope to build a stronger relationship with them when we have moved into our new building and are proper neighbours.”
