General counsel role at crossroads - Andrew Solomon quoted in CDR Magazine

14 November 2019

Andrew Solomon, senior associate in our corporate and commercial and data protection teams, was quoted in CDR Magazine regarding the increasing importance of data protection compliance for in-house counsel since the GDPR.

Andrew commented:

"the report highlights the increasing importance of data protection compliance since the GDPR came into force in May last year”.

"In our experience, in-house counsel are acutely aware of the potential risks associated with failing to comply with the GDPR, but require assistance in identifying material areas of non-compliance within their organisations. Our role is to gain a comprehensive understanding of the client’s data processing activities, identifying material gaps in compliance and then advising on how to plug those gaps.”

The original article with Andrew's commentary appeared on CDRs website on 31 October 2019. Please note, you must have a CDR subscription to view the article.
