At this event, speakers from our employment and corporate & commercial teams will guide you through the variety of issues facing HR and global mobility professionals when managing employee data and the associated risks - ranging from consent and recruitment to data management, subject access requests and cross-border data transfers.

Among other issues, they will cover:

  • Consent and recruitment - The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which comes into effect in May 2018, imposes more prescriptive obligations relating to employee consent. We’ll examine these changes, what they mean in practice, and what you need to do to keep your business running smoothly
  •  Data management on a daily basis - We will share our experience and insight on day to day employee data management issues such as health, discipline, grievances, performance, monitoring and benefits
  •  Subject access requests - A practical guide to responding to subject access requests. Learn how to effectively and efficiently deal with your organisation’s obligations now and under the upcoming GDPR
  •  Cross-border transfers - HR and global mobility professionals working for multi-national organisations are often asked to transfer personal data to group offices and third parties in other  jurisdictions. This may require the consent of family members as well as employees. We’ll discuss the impact of the GDPR on cross-border data transfers and provide practical guidance on the additional challenges faced when data must be transferred overseas
