COVID-19 Fraud: New Taxpayer Protection Taskforce
Nicola Finnerty
Sevim Ahmet secured a seven figure settlement for a 66 year old man who had hypertension which led to a haemorrhagic stroke and caused catastrophic injury to his brain.
The claim was against his General Practitioners for failing to take full account of his pre-existing condition (which he had not had any serious negative consequences from) and, therefore, factor into their treatment plan the increased risk of stroke.
The gentleman’s conditions required “meticulous monitoring and treatment for hypertension”. Unfortunately this did not happen.
The damages awarded will be used to ensure that appropriate accommodation, care and therapies are provided to ensure a good quality of life for the gentlemen and also support for the family.
