Kingsley Napley partner Louise Hodges has been appointed as Vice Chair of the European Criminal Bar Association. The announcement was made at the ECBA Spring conference in Amsterdam on 26th April 2008. One of her first duties will be to attend the forthcoming European Justice Forum on 30th May 2008 which aims to provide a permanent mechanism for consulting stakeholders, to receive feedback and review EU justice policies and practice transparently and objectively. It will have two main spheres of activity:
Louise Hodges specialises in all fraud and business crime litigation, including investigations and prosecutions by the Financial Services Authority (FSA), the Serious Fraud Office (SFO) and HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) as well as other agencies. She is particularly well known for representing individuals subject to FSA regulatory and/or criminal investigations for market abuse or market misconduct. Her cases frequently have an international dimension, and she has acted in a large number of cases involving international mutual assistance (MLA) requests.
