The High Court has ordered BT to block access to Newzbin2, an illegal filesharing site. The original Newzbin site was shut down following a successful action for copyright infringement. However, it appears the operators simply upped anchor and moved offshore, beyond the reach of the UK courts, and set up Newzbin2, an almost identical website located at the same URL. So now the industry has set its sights on the ISPs.

The recent case of MK v CK has marked a change in the treatment of “leave to remove” or relocation cases. The father successfully appealed against the decision allowing the mother permission to relocate to Canada with the parties’ two children.

Yesterday I attended a fascinating debate at the TUC. It was chaired by Louisa Peacock at the Daily/Sunday Telegraph and the two principle speakers were David Frost, Director General of the British Chambers of Commerce, and Brendan Barber, the TUC General Secretary, alongside Jo Lloyd, non-executive director of a small to medium size marketing company (Z Cards), and Siobhan Endean of the Union Unite.
