Health Regulation

Health Professions Council (HPC)

Kingsley Napley are the Solicitors to the Health Professions Council (HPC) in relation to their fitness to practise work, indeed we have acted for the HPC and its predecessor The Council for Profession Supplementary to Medicine (CPSM) since the early 1960s.  Today the HPC regulates 13 health professions and works to protect the health and well-being of the public using the services of those registered.

When a complaint is made about the practise, conduct or health of a Registrant, we investigate the complaint obtaining witness statements and other necessary evidence throughout the UK. Our team of Advocates then present cases before Panels of the HPC's various practise committees, these hearings can last a number of days. When necessary, we have obtained Interim Orders against Registrants in order to protect members of the public. In addition, we have successfully defended Appeals in the High Court. Finally, some cases fall to be reviewed on an annual basis and we regularly undertake this work.

General Medical Council (GMC) / General Dental Council (GDC)

Our prosecution experience obtained through acting for the Health Professions Council means we are well placed to represent those with proceedings before other health regulatory bodies. In particular, our team have a great deal of experience acting for Doctors before the General Medical Council and Dentists before the General Dental Council.

Royal Pharmaceutical Society
