The process of becoming registered with regulatory bodies in the United Kingdom, such as the General Medical Council, the Solicitors Regulation Authority, the Nursing and Midwifery Council, the General Chiropractic Council or the General Dental Council, can be a complicated one.
We are able to advise overseas doctors, nurses, lawyers, dentists and other professionals on the steps that need to be taken in order to apply for registration in the UK. We will advise you on the information and evidence to be submitted and assist with the completion of written documentation. We are able to represent applicants at subsequent registration appeal hearings, should the initial application be refused.
In seeking to join the register of any regulatory body, all applicants, whether qualified in the UK or overseas, must provide a declaration in respect of their suitability to join the register. If you have ever received a conviction or caution, or have ever been subject to fitness to practise proceedings before another regulator, you will have to disclose this information. It is likely that you will be required to provide additional submissions as to why, despite any antecedents, your application should be accepted.
We are able to advise you as to the strength of your application and the most appropriate way to respond to any queries raised. Should your application be refused, we are able to give you straightforward advice on the merits of an appeal and to represent you at any subsequent hearing.
