Increasingly, our clients are looking, before committing to a relationship, to establish and define what will happen if the relationship breaks down.

If you are planning to marry or enter a civil partnership, you may want to consider protecting assets or determining the financial terms upon which you will separate if your relationship breaks down by entering into a prenuptial or pre civil partnership agreement.  The agreement can also consider financial, tax and succession planning.

If you are already married or in a civil partnership you may want to consider entering into a post nuptial agreement to regulate the financial terms upon which you will separate if your relationship breaks down.

If you are planning to live with your partner, you may want to consider entering into a cohabitation agreement to regulate issues such as the ownership of property, payment of the mortgage and bills and what happens if you separate.

Increasingly collaborative law methods are employed when negotiating prenuptial, post nuptial, pre civil partnership and cohabitation agreements.  Jane Keir, Charlotte Bradley and Michael Rowlands are all collaboratively trained and can discuss the suitability of collaborative law to your circumstances.
