Partnership

Clients come to us for help in three main areas:

• A partnership wants to know the advantages and disadvantages of converting to a Limited Liability Partnership, and have the documents drafted
• A partnership wants to review its agreement, especially concerning governance and restrictions
• A partner is being asked to go, and either the individual concerned or the partnership wants advice

We work with professional partnerships converting to Limited Liability Partnerships (LLP). The Legal 500 directory of law firms says that we have "an impressive track record in LLP conversions, partnership creations and partnership disputes".

We take a very pragmatic approach. We get to the root of what the client wants to achieve; we work out how we can achieve it, looking at examples of best practice; then we draft the appropriate documentation.

We are also sensitive to the emotional aspects of this major move. We can mediate in a situation where one partner does not want the business to convert. In the case of a partner who has been asked to leave, we can help them come to terms with feelings of hurt and rejection.
