Shannett began her career by training in-house at a National Health Service Legal Department for a large Trust. Shannett’s experience during this period enabled her to build up sound knowledge of healthcare. Prior to joining Kingsley Napley, Shannett gained extensive experience in defending practitioners in proceedings before the General Medical Council (GMC) and the General Dental Council (GDC).
She joined the Regulatory and Professional Discipline department of Kingsley Napley LLP in May 2011.
At Kingsley Napley, Shannett specialises in investigating and presenting hearings before the Fitness to Practise Panels of the Health Professions Council (HPC) and the Teaching Agency (TA) with regard to a range of matters. Shannett is also part of the newly appointed team at Kingsley Napley to represent the GDC, the regulatory body for dental professionals in the UK.
Since joining Kingsley Napley, Shannett has appeared before the GMC on behalf of a doctor, and was successful in assisting his return to practise subsequent to a lengthy suspension
